Lucy Willer-Lancaster

Author / Memoirist

ABOUT ME:
Lucy Willer-Lancaster is a Toronto-based educator with more than twenty years of experience supporting children, teens, and families with special needs. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Intervention, which deepened her understanding of trauma, grief, mental health, and resilience.
Her debut memoir, draws on both her professional and lived experience of loss, grief, motherhood, and rebuilding a life after devastating loss. Outside of writing, Lucy enjoys travelling, hiking, spending time with her blended family, and exploring Toronto with her two dogs.

…And Then My Husband Died is a raw, intimate, and hopeful memoir exploring trauma, grief, and eventual healing. Spanning from my childhood through the first ten years after my husband Randy’s death, the memoir delves into personal loss, raising two daughters, the complexities of widowhood, and the eventual rediscovery of love and purpose. Written initially as a personal journal, the story evolved into a guide for others navigating grief, blending emotional honesty with practical reflections, humour, and hope.
